Hydroponic Graphic Design
Background and Process:
I wanted to do something organic, everything I have been doing recently has been pretty post industrial. I started with a nice fat font. there are a lot of gradients and pen work in there. One thing i had to learn to do this was the pathfinder tool in Illustrator. It hurts me like trucks without brakes, but I got it. It also serves as a nice little shout out to one of the best owner/operator natural vegan bakery in Ohio

5.11.09 Art@Daily .. Rough Day
Yeah it has been a long day, So i set out to simply make a little something to amuse myself.
Process and Back story:
I was just basically playing with gradients and drop shadowing. It is very easy to start throwing effects on images in bad taste. Its a thin line to walk. you can easily make things too glaring or dark.
Not much more to say than that.

Today art is in full bloom…yeah that’s sad, i know, so shut it up
Background and Process:
I have been thinking about doing some illustrations in Illustrator, and flowers seems to be a good place to start. I think these turned out well. I liked the color choices. Seeing as I live in a slightly sub tropical climate now, I suppose I should start using more vibrant colors, more so than the grays and blues I usually do. At least with these I didn’t have to use the symbols tool, I hate that thing. Though I am looking at taking on another symbol project Monday. As usualish, I will post up some design links tomorrow, as Friday is …well, Friday.
and yes, Jen wanted flowers.
